Zions First National Bank Money Market Account

Zions Bank has a decent money market account rate, but not that great of a savings account rate right now. A lot of bank cd rates and savings rates have dropped since the Feds cut interest rates. Zions First national money market account rate intro rate of 2.75% is not too bad to start.

Zions bank just as many other banks are offering higher rates to online customers.. This is because of the low overhead. While CD rates continue to drop, even Zions Bank not the greatest at 2.02% at the moment, there still remains hope that rates will come back by some decisions made by regulation over smaller banks and online banking accounts.

Banks will continue to remain unstable until the economy starts coming back, and the  best options will still be to get online bank accounts with banks that may not even be located in your region. The internet has opened up the options out there for better investing and more compition between banks.

Best Fixed Rate Savings Account

having trouble deciding what to do with the extra cash you may have from a bonus or are you ready to invest in a CD but are unhappy with the rates? Another alternative is a fixed rate savings account in which you are guaranteed a specific rate of return. most commonly it is one year, but can be longer depending on the financial institution.

While the best fixed rate savings accounts are probably going to be with smaller banks, you can still find them with some of the most common bank. Bank Of America,  Wachovia and others may not advertise if they have one or not, so you will want to go ahead and check with each bank to see what the current rates are for a local fixed rate savings account.

Most of the times you are required to set up a feeder account in order to get your fixed rate savings account with a bank. If you have a checking account already, it is better to check with that current bank than going through the hassle of opening one elsewhere. Your best options to find good rates is to search the net for good bank deals. Specials are always starting and ending each week so it is difficult to keep up. If you have the patience, you may want to wait for the bank of your choice to have a special, or inquire of them frequently when they may start to get the best fixed rate savings account locally.
